Context

CIRCUL'ARTs is a multi-disciplinary and international Cost (Horizon Europe) type of research and mobility network. It develops an innovative methodology to stimulate the emergence of solutions towards more circular and sustainable cities, based on a 'dynamic ecology of knowledge'. This implies new ways of co-creating knowledge, sharing it and transforming it into action, orientating our learning towards more practical action.

Concept and Process

Circul'Arts is a collaborative research project exploring circularity across art, architecture, philosophy, and urban practice. For this initiative, our studio developed the visual identity, communication materials, and website - conceived as both an archive and a living platform where research and creative experimentation converge.

The symbol reflects the project's core ideas - ancestrality, urbanism, investigation, art, movement, archiving, experimentation, and a universal visual language - through a circular motion that mirrors the name itself. This continuous movement became the foundation of the entire visual system.

A vibrant color palette was used to distinguish each working group and event, creating a visual code that celebrates diversity while reinforcing the project's interconnected nature. The website brings together a wide range of research materials, archival content, and contemporary case studies, acting as a space for dialogue between disciplines and practices.

Ultimately, Circul'Arts stands as more than a research platform — it is a dynamic framework that connects theory and practice, past and future, in one continuous circular motion.
