Concept and Process
We designed the website for Elisabete Gonçalves, creating a platform that emphasizes simplicity, coherence, and the artist's work. The interface was conceived as a single, continuous space - wherever the user navigates, content appears within the same area of the homepage, sliding in from the left, right, or bottom, adapting itself and giving the impression that nothing ever truly leaves the screen.
Layouts were developed to accommodate multiple compositions and visual rhythms while maintaining clarity and balance. This approach allows Elisabete's work to remain the focus, providing ample space for images and documentation to be experienced without distraction. The navigation system is consistent across devices, ensuring a seamless experience on desktop, tablet, or mobile.
The website employs a monochromatic palette, with careful attention to spacing, hierarchy, and subtle interactions, creating a digital environment that feels both intimate and dynamic, reflecting the meticulous and deliberate nature of Elisabete's practice.
The design fosters a sense of exploration and continuity, where images, text, and media coexist within a singular, flowing space, allowing visitors to engage with the artist's work in an immersive, elegant, and immediately intuitive way.
